Clearly great taste
The festive season is upon us, with lots of eating, drinking and making merry. If you’re entertaining this Christmas, you’re going to want something that’s simple but stunning to impress those you care about. Brita Water Filters have come up with some great recipes that are sure to dazzle: whether you’re making a grown-up soft drink for designated drivers (or when you just can’t take another glass of eggnog), a warming toddy after a winter walk, or a sophisticated jelly for a fabulous dinner party, you want the taste and the colour to sing. Impurities in tap water such as chlorine and temporary hardness (the cause of limescale), as well as pesticides and heavy metals like lead, copper and aluminium, can overpower subtle flavours and aromas, masking the full taste of your food and drinks. What’s more, the temporary hardness can also lead to a more murky appearance – you’ve seen the familiar scum on a cup of tea – ruining the effect of all your hard work. If you want jellies with jewel-bright clarity, and you like to really savour the delicacy and the depth of flavour in your drinks, try making them with water from a Brita filter. The Brita cartridge reduces the impurities found in tap water giving great tasting results and sparkling clarity. And if you prefer your glass of water neat, you’ll love the clean fresh taste (and don’t forget to use filtered water for ice cubes with extra sparkle). Cooking your veg and Boxing Day gammon in Brita filtered water is a great idea too, since filtering is thought to remove certain compounds from the water that can affect food during cooking. You should see a real improvement in the texture and colour and less scum too (a boon if your arms have ever ached after hours spent skimming a simmering gammon)!
