Tests of water analyzers
Home test kits and portable analyzers to detect metals in water comprise
the first category of water technologies set for verification testing
by Battelle, a technology development organization, as part of the
Advanced Monitoring Systems pilot. AMS is one of 12 pilots in the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Technology
Verification program (ETV).
These devices were selected as the first water technology to be tested
because this category addresses one of the key monitoring needs identified
by the AMS pilot's water stakeholder committee during its meetings in
February and September.
Vendors of this technology category who have already indicated their
interest in participating will be contacted by Battelle if further information
is needed.
A meeting will be held at Battelle's facilities in Columbus, Ohio, for
vendors interested in the verification test of home test kits and portable
analyzers for metals in water. The main purpose of this meeting will be
to give vendors of these technologies the opportunity to discuss the verification
process, suggest procedures for verification testing, and plan the test
schedule. Information about the exact date, location, and proposed agenda
for this meeting will be provided to interested vendors early in November.
