Monitoring petroleum hudrocarbons in drinking water by the TD-4100

One of the many applications of the TD-4100 online oil in water analyzer is protection for water treatment plants from petroleum hydrocarbons.

Oil, fuels and chemicals enter the water treatment plant as a result of spills into the source water. The TD-4100 and the TD-4100 XD continuous on-line monitors are installed on river, lake and ocean water sources measuring oil, fuels, and chemicals in water down to 10 ppb in some cases. Our oil in water monitors are protecting industrial and municipal water supplies and desalination systems worldwide. The TD-4100 and TD-4100XD are preferred over other options because of their low maintenance, ease of use and calibration, and accuracy.

In most applications, the TD-4100 and TD-4100XD are interfaced to the drinking water plant’s control system to provide immediate indication of the hydrocarbon contamination. The instruments are calibrated to detect petroleum hydrocarbons down to low ppb depending upon the requirement. Upon detection of the petroleum hydrocarbons in the water, the instruments alerts the operators through alarm relays or through the 4-20 mA signal. This allows the plant to take necessary steps to prevent contamination of the public drinking water.
